Overview

Looking after 1.5 million patients every year, King’s College
Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs over 13,500 members of
staff across multiple sites.

Serving the inner-city population of Southwark and Lambeth, as
well as millions from tertiary referral centres in southern
England, King’s College Hospital deals with 400 Emergency
Department attendances per day, and has the largest mental
health patient attendance in the UK.

With a mixture of buildings and water systems varying in age
and complexity, the Trust needed a dedicated and reliable team
of on-site technicians that were able to respond to the
day-to-day needs of the hospital, whilst maintaining a
programme of works that covered all aspects of water hygiene.

Zeta’s Role

After completing a Legionella Risk Assessment for the Trust in
2018, Zeta identified areas where compliance could be
improved, and proposed ways in which this could be delivered
successfully. In 2021, King’s College Hospital awarded Zeta
with a 5 year contract to work on all aspects of HTM 04-01
compliance.

iconZeta have been instrumental in revolutionising the Trust’s water management system. From completing an initial Legionella Risk Assessment (LRA) in 2018, to being awarded a contract for all aspects of HTM 04-01 compliance in 2021,Zeta continues to make a difference by focusing on what is really important when it comes to water hygiene. Their team and the systems that have been implemented have reduced day-to-day challenges of water management over a large, diverse estate, with a small in-house team.
